What Is an Astrology Library?
An astrology library is a structured reference covering the core building blocks that make up every birth chart: planets, zodiac signs, houses, aspects, elements, and modalities. Together, these six categories form the language of astrology. The AstroMood Astrology Library contains over 400 reference pages spanning all six categories — including 120 planet-in-sign interpretations, 120 transit-through-house analyses, and 78 zodiac compatibility pairings, making it one of the most comprehensive free astrology resources available online.
Planets represent fundamental drives — the Sun governs identity, the Moon rules emotions, Mercury shapes communication, Venus influences love, and Mars directs energy. Zodiac signs modify how those drives express themselves: Mars in Aries is direct and impulsive, while Mars in Libra seeks harmony. Houses determine where in life these energies manifest — the 7th house governs partnerships, the 10th house rules career, and the 4th house represents home and family.
Aspects are angular relationships between planets that create harmony (trines, sextiles) or tension (squares, oppositions). Elements — Fire, Earth, Air, and Water — group signs by temperament, while modalities — Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable — describe how signs initiate action. Understanding these interconnected systems is essential for reading any natal chart, synastry comparison, or transit forecast accurately.
What makes astrology a cohesive system rather than a collection of isolated symbols is how these building blocks interact. A planet does not operate in isolation — its meaning is always modified by the sign it occupies, the house it falls in, and the aspects it forms to other planets. For example, Venus (love and values) in Scorpio (intensity and depth) in the 7th house (partnerships) with a square to Pluto (transformation) tells a very different story than Venus in Gemini in the 3rd house with a trine to Jupiter. The AstroMood Library is designed to teach each component individually so you can begin synthesizing them together — the way a language learner first masters vocabulary and grammar before composing full sentences. Western tropical astrology, Vedic sidereal astrology, and Hellenistic astrology all use these same core building blocks, though they may calculate positions differently or emphasize different techniques. The foundational knowledge in this library applies across traditions, giving you a universal framework for understanding any astrological system you choose to study further.
